Ingredients
- 1/2 cup hemp hearts
- 1/2 cup almond flour (or oat flour)
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
Wet ingredients:
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted) or olive oil
- 1/4 cup unsweetened plant milk (almond, oat, etc.)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional add-ins:
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (dairy-free)
- 2 tbsp chopped walnuts
Instructions

Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
Line a small baking pan (approx. 20cm / 8-inch) with baking paper. -
Blend hemp hearts (optional)
For a smoother texture, pulse the hemp hearts in a blender for a few seconds to create a soft meal. -
Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, combine:- hemp hearts
- almond flour
- cocoa powder
- baking soda
- salt

Mix wet ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together:- maple syrup
- melted coconut oil
- plant milk
- vanilla

Combine
Add wet ingredients into dry and stir until fully combined.
Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using. -
Bake
Pour into pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 18–22 minutes (they should still be slightly soft in the center). -
Cool completely
This is key—these brownies firm up as they cool and become perfectly fudgy. Sprinkle hemp hearts on top. (optional)
