Vegan Hemp Cheese

Vegan Hemp Cheese

 
 

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Hemp Connect Hemp Hearts

  • ¼ cup pumpkin & sunflower seeds (soaked)

  • 220g chickpeas (1 can)

  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice

  • 15g nutritional yeast

  • ¼ tsp ground turmeric

  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce (optional)

  • 1/3 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 150ml hemp milk (or other unsweetened plant based milk)

Agar Gel

  • 200ml cold water

  • 2 Tbsp agar powder

 
 

 
 

Instructions


1.      Place all ingredients (beside Agar gel) in a blender and process until smooth

2.      Make Agar gel:

  1. Whisk powder into cold water in a saucepan

  2. Let it soak for a couple of minutes

  3. Then bring it to boil, lower the heat and whisk it thoroughly about 5 minutes)

3.      Quickly transfer the gel into your cheese mixture in the blender and process until it becomes a homogenous texture

4.      Pour mixture into a container and cover it

5.      Refrigerate until firm – about 3-5 hours
