Whanganui Weekends at the Hemp Connect Warehouse

Last weekend some of the Wellington-based team went up to Whanganui to visit Matt and Nick who have been spending quite a bit of time processing this year’s harvest in the Warehouse. It was so great to see everything in motion, and the amount of work that goes in behind the scenes to ensure the quality of the Hemp Connect product is so high.

Originally, I planned to visit them myself to catch up with my husband who has been away for the last couple of weeks. Before I knew it though, there were six of us heading up there for a wonderful weekend staying at Red Bach Retreat. As per usual there was a lot of shop-talk but also quality time with friends and family. Jax (Official Company Doggo & Head of Security) absolutely loved running around the sand dunes.

The weekend really made me reflect on how beautiful Aotearoa is, and how each little bach around the country has so much history and creativity to enjoy. Pre-Covid, I was planning a big trip through Europe, leaving in four weeks from today. And although I’m quite sad this is no longer happening, we are so lucky that we can travel around our own backyard and find new experiences to enjoy, and spread the love throughout the country.

I would highly recommend Red Bach to anyone looking for a place to stay in the lower north island – and would welcome everyone’s recommendations for other golden spots to go and visit around NZ to see what else there is out there to enjoy and to support the NZ tourism industry.
